We water, soil and sky
spun and spinning
ripple to ripple
falling as we fly.

We sons and daughters
leaves and bark
sand and spark
silence and cry.

We crumbs and crust
iron and rust
reason from chaos
and dreams out of dust.

We creatures who learned
to walk upright
and light fires
against the night

now launch ourselves
into flight
and read the history
of starlight.
